1  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Check out these sites "AWESOME CLIPART" on: March 11, 2011, 11:47:35 AM
If you explore the links, they will show you all their free (vectorized)images. all you have to do is download it (images are available individualy, not in groups). if you are not able to it's because your not putting the effort in to find the download button which is not hard at all. I spent alot of time finding these so you wouldn't have to so at least !try! to explore the sites.
2  SeikiTech Vinyl Cutter / Seiki Cutters - T Series (SK-720T, SK-870T, SK-1350T) / Re: Using Cutter as Plotter on: March 10, 2011, 12:27:01 PM
The pen is used for creating an outline of the actual image that your considering for vinyl. whether the pen or the blade is on the cutting head the end result is always the same. so if you use the pen (recommend using paper no vinyl) and hit send on your software, it will outline your image.  when you use the blade it will cut the exact same outline on the vinyl.

5  SeikiTech Vinyl Cutter / Seiki Cutters - T Series (SK-720T, SK-870T, SK-1350T) / Alignment " Things just ain't lining up" on: February 16, 2011, 02:48:37 PM
First check the alignment by using 5 feet or more of good quality vinyl. Load the vinyl film into the plotter and close the pinches. Now feed the vinyl back and forth a couple of times for a few feet to determine if the vinyl is running straight. If the vinyl shifts to the right when it is moved forward, release the left pinches and keep the right pinch down. Then pull the left side of the vinyl a little and close the pinches again. Now feed the vinyl back and forth again to check to see if the vinyl is running straight. Repeat until vinyl runs straight.

Move the pen or blade to the beginning part of the vinyl film. Push the leave button and then manually press down on the pen or blade.  Use the DOWN arrow to draw a line about 2 to 3 inches. Release the pen or blade and then press the DOWN arrow to move the vinyl film forward for 4 feet (on the display of the plotter, 1000 = 1 inch, so 4 feet = 48000) then press the UP arrow to move the vinyl back to the starting area. Manually press down the pen or blade again, using the DOWN arrow to draw another 2 to 3 inch line. If the second line does not overlay the first line, Move the pen or blade to the left or right and do a few more tests. If the second lines are always on the same side of the first lines, you may need to adjust the tension of the pinch rollers. If the second line is always on the left side of the first line, it means the vinyl shifts to right in which case you need to tighten up the right side pinches or loosen the left side pinches. If the second line is always on the right side of the first line, it means the vinyl shifts to the left, in which case you would need to tighten up the left side pinches or loosen the right side pinches. Repeat test after every adjustment until the first and second line overlap.

You can increase your force and decrease your speed. if you are still having issues, try replacing your blade with a new one.
also here's a video with tips on weeding your material. CLICK THE LINK!!!

It all comes down to the thickness, color is not a factor when attempting to determine the force and speed settings. the reason why you had to to use a force of 170 for your heat transfer material is becuase the standard sizes for this material are 4mil to 7mil and up. The standard vynil film thickness is 3mil. Color is not a factor.

depends on the thickness of your material. thicker materials have a higher force but a lower speed, thinner materials have a lower force with normal speed. You will have to adjust the force until you get the results you need.

The issue may be that the comport is set to 10 or above . you can check/change by clicking the link below. after that check what the comport is in the production manager, if not the same as the device manager, change it accordingly.

We received your files by email. Your eps file is not vector format, so your fs file is not right as well. Please also look at the tutorial “TraceBitmap in InkScape” on how to convert the bitmap to Vector format. What is your source file? If your source file is the eps you e-mail us. You can open the eps file in FlexiSTARTER and save it as jpg file(patriot.jpg). Base on the “TraceBitmap in InkScape” tutorial, convert the patriot.jpg to drawing-1.eps.  Open the drawing-1.eps to FlexiSTARTER again and add the contour line and registration marks(drawing-1.fs).  All sample files attached.

This software is great for creating your own images. all you have to do is get your picture of the star, vectorize it, then send it to your cutting software and "POOF" your star is a sticker. just check out the link below to see how easy it is.
